Es werden mehr Kröpfungen als benötigt hergestellt, um dem Gitter eine größere Stabilität zu verleihen. Nur jede dritte oder fünfte Kröpfung verfügt über einen Querdraht. Somit ergibt sich eine größere Anzahl Stützpunkte für das daraufliegende Gewebe. Eine sehr große offene Siebfläche ist realisierbar.
